Peter Collingwood.

'I found, on abandoning medicine, that to live from weaving immediately imposed severe restrictions on me, unfamiliar to those weaving for pleasure. The challenge was to find methods, fast to work but yet full of design possibilities and as yet unused by ones rivals!

Out of this pressure were born block woven, then corduroy and finally shaft-switched rugs. And for the wall, Macrogauzes... Luckily I enjoy puzzling out these alterations, sometimes more than the repetitive act of weaving itself!'
