Lisa Milroy was born in Vancouver in 1959. She studied at St Martin's School of Art and Goldsmiths College.

Recent solo shows include Tate Liverpool 2001 and Geishas Alan Cristea Gallery London 2003. In 2000 her design for the Royal Mail Millennium stamp won a DAAD award and in 2001 she designed three album covers for The Beautiful South.

Her earliest works are depictions of everyday objects, while later canvases depict images of people, blank facades of buildings, cliches of photographic landscapes.
